I have a mindfulness journal. I found it in a cheap bookshop and art store. It was £3. I have almost filled it with thoughts and emotions. There are exercises and prompts to help focus my writing and one of the final questions was …
What do I want to do today?
I’m not a writer by any stretch of the imagination but this is what I wrote ..
Today I want to move forward
Today I want to feel acceptance and gratitude
Today I want love, peace and kindness
Today I want calm
Today is a day for people who love, respect and care for me
Today I want to let go
Today I want mindfulness, joy and laughter
Today I want nature and fresh air
Today I want family
Today I want friends
Today I want to look in the mirror and say ‘I like you, you’re ok’
Today I want to breathe
Today is the day it happens
Today I will move forward
The instruction was to write down one thing but as always I went rogue and created a huge ‘to do list!’ I won’t accomplish it all today, but TODAY is where it begins.
Love Claire xx
This is great! I love how it starts with wanting to move forward to ending with I will move forward. ❤️

Doing good! Had a busy but nice weekend. My daughter is doing better so that’s good to see. ❤️ Getting my daughter ready for college. Just when I’ve filled out all medical info and submitted it in, I get an email that says incomplete but doesn’t state what I’m missing. Grrrr…now I will have to get ahold of them. They take awhile getting back to ya too but I’m sure they are busy during this COVID time and working from home. How are you doing? 😘

Things like that are so frustrating. I’m ok. Few ups and downs but I’m managing with no meds so that’s good enough for now. Xxx

That’s such a sweet thing to say. You have accomplished just as much. We are doing ok, more than ok. As Anne said in her comment … ‘We are awesome 😎’ xxx

❤ Love those journals with the prompts in them 🙂 My siblings got me one that was called "boost your self esteem" one year, but I never got round do doing it, I felt ashamed lol. I love your list ❤ And hope that one day you will write "I love you, you are awesome" rather than "I like you, you are OK" in the mirror part 🙂 LOVE xxxx Anne

I hear you Anne. I’m never one to go overboard in the ‘loving myself’ stakes. 😂😂
I will aim for the ‘you are awesome’ … hopefully I’ll manage it one day. ❤️😘💕

Going forward is always the best place to start, much better than trying to go backwards. x

You made the list and that’s an excellent start. Now to just chip away one by one. 🙂

I’m planning to do exactly that. Gratitude is my first thing to practice. When I find my mind wrapped up in negative, unhelpful thoughts, I am trying to switch it around and think about all the things I am grateful for. Turns out there are a lot! 😊

I love it too. It’s nearly complete so I’m going to search for another one. I find it helps me start writing even if I don’t follow the same direction. Xxx

Thanks Nadine. Good to hear from you again. I ave bought a new journal book to carry on. I find it really therapeutic and helpful to write but it’s good to have some prompts to help my focus. How are you my lovely?

That’s a good idea to use the prompts. I had a digital diary that did that, it was actually amazing. Might go back to that again. I’m good lovely thank you :))
